Warsaw’s landmark ‘Hotel Bristol’, one of the few buildings left standing in the aftermath of World War II, has shortlisted for the International Hotel and Property Awards 2013 following a contemporary restoration.

Anita Rosato Interior Design were approached to introduce contemporary luxury, comfort and style while restoring and refreshing Hotel Bristol’s glamorous Art Nouveau heritage.

Every aspect of the reinvention of the Bristol required careful coordination with the local conservation office to ensure the design was relevant and respectful of the interior architecture.

A key aspect of the work was engaging with individual artisans to create bespoke installations for the hotel. These unique pieces are inspired by the sensibility of the original architects and designers of the period.

The design language is authentic to the roots of the building and the significant changes have been sympathetically realised. Retaining the essence of the Bristol was paramount throughout the process. New features and finishes were successfully incorporated into the building enhancing the existing details and have become an intrinsic part of the Bristol story. The interiors were designed to meet the needs and desires of the modern traveller in elegant, inspiring surroundings; embracing the hotel’s past whilst celebrating the present.

The refurbishment of the Bristol has redefined glamour and luxury in the region. The hotel is once again at the centre of Warsaw culture and the feedback has been positive. It was a rare opportunity to be involved in the process of restoring the hotel to its former glory and one that Anita and her team felt privileged and trusted to undertake.

Hotel Bristol has shortlisted in multiple categories for The International Hotel & Property Awards ( Bar/Club/Lounge Award and Hotel 50-200 Rooms Award) which will be taking place at The Hurlingham Club, London, 20th September 2013.
