Bilkey Llinas Design have been Shortlisted for Hotel Over 200 Rooms – Asia Pacific Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2021.
The Marriott Xuzhou features a total area of 53,000m2 with a wide range of Public Areas including several F&B outlets, large meeting and convention facilities, a luxury Spa and a total of 286 guestrooms and suites. The overall design theme develops through a contemporary approach to forms and details that pay homage to Xuzhou’s rich architectural and cultural heritage.
The lake front location at the base of beautiful mountains provided the initial inspiration for the hotel’s interiors. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed through a double height main lobby and reception which is developed with straight on axis to the majestic lake. Accentuating this focal point, a lobby fountain is also leading towards the lakeview and provide a central organizing element of the main lobby. The F&B outlets, which include the Lobby Lounge, Bar, All Day Dining Restaurant, The Korean Restaurant and the Chinese Restaurant (a la carte and private dining rooms), are designed to enjoy vast views of the surrounding lake, mountains and gardens. Whilst providing a unique experience for each of the outlets always within the context of the integration of the outdoors and the interiors in a serene atmosphere. The low-rise profile of the building and overall massing is harmonious with the location and environment.
The guestrooms and suites develop around the concept of a flexible open bathroom arrangement which can make the bathroom completely open towards the bedroom and views or a completely private arrangement through the use of multiple glass panels that can retract and close with great ease. The Marriott Xuzhou embraces the contemporary planning aspects key to the satisfaction of today’s sophisticated business and leisure travellers, whilst providing a comfortable and relaxed sense of luxury. The privileged geographical location of the hotel is key to the overall design concept and guest experience. The site, located on the lakeside shore and nestled at the base of lush mountains, provides a stunning canvas for this newest addition to Xuzhou’s luxury hospitality offerings.
