Congratulations to Javier Casabe Naval Architect shortlisted for Concept Under 40 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2020

design et al are delighted to announce that Javier Casabe Naval Architect have been shortlisted for the Concept Under 40 Metres Award in  The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2020.

JC45 is a modern, day cruiser yacht with a private beach area and interior quarters for 4-6 people. With an innovative design proposal, the JC45 can be used also as a tender support vessel for a superyacht.

The JC45 is a concept Javier Casabe Naval Architect designed and developed around the idea of a yacht which utilises 100% of the exterior area. The stern lounge with its 6.12-meter-long folding sides allows the area to be doubled up as a swim platform. Because of this, when at anchor almost half of the yacht with both topsides down reaches a beam of 6.25 meters, allowing quick access to the sea via the large submersible swim platform and a solarium at the stern, offering the owners and people aboard the yacht to enjoy the stern like a private beach club.

Although the JC45 concept is very modern, she has a timeless Italian style on a well-balanced profile and layout. “While thinking of the design, I wanted to recreate the use and style of the ancient Italian Gozzo boats, but with the actual technologies, construction process, and distinct lines of the current trends in yacht design, as seen for example on the hardtop side support, or the minimalist exterior hull sides.”

The design works very well because it is a modern concept based on a timeless style and balanced design. It is a yacht that will always catch the attention of onlookers wherever she may be. This due to its innovative design solutions, it’s good layout and its extreme external areas.  JC45 is an ideal yacht for hot weather climates and conditions. Secluded bays and sheltered beaches allow the owner to take advantage of JC45’s exterior features, whilst not compromising on her seaworthiness, due to the deep V-Hull and Volvo Penta Engines that produce enough horsepower to sail on rough seas between destinations.
