design et al are delighted to announce that Artwood Flooring have been shortlisted for a Flooring- Hard Floor Award in The International Product Design Awards 2016
The Artwood Bespoke Collection offers clients the ability create their own, unique finish for use within their interior scheme. For this private residence in London, Artwood created 2 new finishes in collaboration with the interior design firm René Dekker Design. A matt metallic finish from the Haze Collection was modified to achieve the exact shade required for the clients scheme and a second complimentary finish with hand inlaid metallic gold grain was also created. The 2 finishes were laid in alternating lines of a herringbone pattern at a 2:1 ratio.
Artwood work to colour match fabrics, leathers and other materials being used within the same space to create one off, bespoke finishes for their clients. They also optimise the layout of the floor pattern, incorporating matching thresholds and accessories wherever required. All Artwood floors are hand finished in the UK utilising exclusive finishing techniques have been developed entirely in-house. Multiple flooring formats including plank, parquet and chevron are available in all Artwood finishes. Artwood uses only select grade European Oak for our flooring, a sustainable species which is used as the canvas for the creation of exquisite finishes, thus avoiding the need to use other, more endangered species of timber.
