design et al are delighted to announce that Banda Property have been shortlisted for Living Space UK Award in The International Design And Architecture Awards 2016
Parkgate house is the ultimate modern living environment within a stunning historic setting. Space is absolutely central to the design brief for the Heritage Collection. Prime features comprise vast living areas, unusually tall ceilings (3.3m) and beautifully restored expansive arch windows.
The direction was to give maximum space and light and the windows side by- side give a virtually interrupted dual aspect. The two apartments are designed to make a classical statement
juxtaposed with modern living. Future proofing features such as under-floor heating throughout, built-in sound, air conditioning and recessed LED lighting were designed to be controlled by tablet or mobile devices for ease and comfort. De-misting glass in the bathrooms and a bottom-filling bath took the brief to new heights of convenience. The design is for living, to focus on peace and expediency where it may not have been considered possible previously.
The bio-ethanol fireplace that partitions the kitchen and living room replaces any thoughts of solid walls with fluidity of circulation through the space. Luxurious design and finishes were central to the design direction and the high quality Carrara marble, in large proportions, ensures this in both the kitchen and bathrooms While leading the design Banda insisted on carefully selecting UK artisans and experts in their respective design fields to achieve the very best spaces for supreme living and modern entertaining.
The history of the building was integral to the design and during early works, the original bakery flooring was uncovered first , which led Banda to commission the exact replica stunning oak chevron flooring.
