A striking 32 storey ‘wavelinear,’ Sheraton Melbourne creates an iconic predominantly glazed sculptural form of the highest quality architectural design on Melbourne’s skyline. Located in the ‘Paris end’ of the Melbourne CBD, the interior design response was inspired by the tradition of Melbourne’s iconic laneways and the 19th Century and contemporary charm of Paris.
The result is an expression of understated elegance, from the discreet street entry, to every detail of the guest rooms. There is a sense of, ‘You can’t see Paris from here, but you can feel it.’ The sense of other-worldliness is threaded throughout the tower as it offers thoughtful luxury reminiscent of the boutique hotels of Paris. It expresses the strong Sheraton brand whilst creating the ambience of a boutique hotel in the European tradition. On arrival, the grand staircase and custom-designed chandelier is an introduction to the 5- star quality of the hotel, linking all guest services and public spaces.
The lobby features soft leather chairs grouped as mini lounges, and a guest lounge beyond invites guests to order from the light-filled French- inspired restaurant and adjacent bar. Guest rooms are an expression of plush, contemporary comfort – both a haven and an indulgence. Marble bathrooms are finely detailed and are separated from the main room by large windows fitted with electronically retractable blinds for privacy. Many rooms enjoy views of the city, the nearby Treasury Gardens and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
