design et al want to congratulate Dorothy Draper & Co for bring successfully shortlisted in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2016. The Colony Hotel is such a truly special project that brings a smile to anyone’s face who passes by or has the pleasure of staying at. Truly transforming the entire hotel into the gem that it currently is has been quite an ordeal but is a testament to the benefits of great design.
The property now is the center of the society scene, from receiving the who’s who of the world as guests to playing host to great events and other functions either in The Pavilion Ballroom or the terrace adjacent to the pool. The Royal Room Cabaret is a true Palm Beach tradition that was not forgotten. Giving new life to this classic space adds a touch of nostalgia. This project is so unique and special to the residents of Palm Beach as it truly is such an iconic property that now has new life and a fresh approach.
The design works so well because it embraces the local culture. By taking the Colonial feelings of the hotel architecture and mixing in tropical colors of the foliage, flowers, and aqua ocean, it creates an exciting and imaginative space. The attention to detail that is shown in this project helps to ensure that all guests of the property feel as special as their stay truly should be.
The best part of this project is the transformation and rebirth of the hotel, bringing it to be once again at the centre of the Palm Beach social scene.
