design et al are delighted to announce that Interior Desires have be shortlisted for a Bathroom Over £100,000 Award in the The International Design and Architecture Awards 2016.
The team at Interior Desires were approached to design a neo classical Oxfordshire house by their client, the brief was to upgrade the existing space, which was previously done by developers, to a more luxurious standard. The Milas Bianco lilac marble slabs was sourced and supplied from Via Arkadia. The designers wanted to bring a traditional element to the room as an ode to the country location, introducing panelled frames with ogee profiles on the vanity unit and adjacent shelve walls to give the room some depth and character. The marble is very bold, so the team wanted the remaining elements to be soft and playful. The bath is from Victoria and Albert Worcester collection, whilst the free standing bath filler, shower, basin fixtures and accessories are form Waterwork’s Henry range. An architectural bronze finish was chosen which has an element of tradition style to fit in with the design theme. The architectural bronze finish has an understated elegance which compliments the marble.
The lighting pendants over the basin were designed by the team at Interior Desires, these lights give the room a more feminine feel. Overall, this bathroom showcases the intricate craftsmanship of the marble fabricators and displays the elegance of the design through clever use of space and stunning fixtures.
