Congratulations to Laura Stein Interiors who have been shortlisted for a Bathroom Award

design et al are delighted to announce that Laura Stein Interiors have been shortlisted for Bathroom Award in The International Design And Architecture Awards 2016

The client wanted a space that felt light and open, with contemporary lines and classic touches. The original shower in this bathroom had an unusual architectural feature, a glass block wall overlooking the living room on the floor below. It was the only source of natural light in the room, but was dated and cracked. In order to keep the light source and maintain privacy, Laura and her team designed a custom wood screen with frosted glass behind. It is a truly unique feature and serves as the focal point for the room.

Bathroom OverallThe designers tailored the interior of this bathroom to fit their client’s needs exactly. They wanted plenty of storage, a well-lit double vanity, luxurious finishes and a spa-like shower, all which was given by the designers. The combination of grey and white keeps the room looking fresh, while the contrasting mahogany cabinetry adds some drama and richness to the space

Bathroom OverallThe large shower was placed where the old tub had been, and a new freestanding tub where the old shower stood. The new shower, clad entirely in white marble, features a heated floor and bench seat, a rain shower head, and a steam unit. The custom mahogany vanity, shelving and panel provide contrast and an extra luxurious finish. Swing-arm sconces, imported from Germany, allow for light to be adjusted as needed. Each piece of the grey marble herringbone floor was custom cut for the design.
