The London Furnishing Company completed the renovation of a large house for a family of five, including reconfiguring the internal space as well as an extension. The project initially began as a redecoration of the first floor rooms but then progressed into a complete refurbishment including extension. The client had lived in the property for a few years and the layout and decor no longer fulfilled their needs.

The aim was to create light, spacious and practical living areas that didn’t compromise on style. The re – design was to include a large Kitchen with living area with a space large enough to cater for 14 people. The house needed to feel lighter, calmer and more serene so a neutral base palette was used which was then offset with accents of colour and glamour in the furnishings. A greater sense of flow throughout the house was a key issue for the clients , along with clever use of natural materials which would, in turn give the house a more contemporary yet practical feel. The leather-panelled wall in the reception room transforms into a secret door to the swimming pool, which the clients wanted to be hidden from view.

This carved motif can be found again in the sculptural suede panelling in the master bedroom. Light grey oak floorboards were installed throughout the first floor and were used for the doors also, thus creating vast amounts of light and continuity within the downstairs areas. These Design features and the use of luxurious materials combined with thoughtful details, result in an elegant and sophisticated finish.
