design et al are delighted to announce that Magni have been shortlisted again in the Lighting- Pendant Chandelier Category of The International Product Design Awards 2015
James Magni’s background as an architect clearly shows through in this piece. The geometry comprised of polished stainless steel and glass, is inspired by the International style of architecture. Pure forms, simple materials, floating in a contemporary execution. James wanted to design something that would become a modern classic for years. The floating glass panel is comprised of 2-inch thick glass, cast with four circular oculus “lenses”.
There is a globe hovering above each oculus, diffusing the light through the glass and creating a soft glowing effect. The glass is then suspended in a rectilinear stainless steel cage, mounted by two arms which attach to a ceiling. As is true of all Magni Home Collection pieces, the Jewel Chandelier is made up of the finest materials and craftsmanship. All of their pieces are hand crafted by carefully selected artists in Los Angeles.
