design et al are delighted to announce that Maisha Design have been shortlisted for Bathroom Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.
The clients approached Maisha Design to redesign their three-bedroom apartment in Shad Thames into a luxury second home in the city. They wanted a design that was focused on creating a spectacular space for entertaining and hosting their guests – a space that was exciting and different yet full of glamour.
Maisha Design wanted to create something unique and beautiful and therefore opted for a vision that was both elegant and striking in their bathroom design. Each element was chosen with precision, each detail designed carefully to create a balanced and stunning design. Maisha Design installed three different circuits, allowing for three different moods depending on the use of the bathroom. These not only concentrated on ensuring beautiful yet functional tasks and atmospheric lighting but also created focal points and visionary effects on the materials used. The walls and floors were tiled in a beautiful onyx, complete with underfloor and wall heating for a relaxing and comfortable experience. Gorgeous smoked glass was used in the shower and niches, to create a luxurious and calm atmosphere whilst a soft LED glow creates a floating effect on the breath-taking Noir St Laurent marble basin, celebrating this precious material gloriously. But the stars of this concept are the magnificent hand finished copper taps and shower details by Watermark. They elevate this bathroom to something truly unique and graceful, unlike any traditional bathroom design.
For Maisha Design the key detail of this bathroom design are the beautiful handmade copper taps and finishes. They are not only a delicate and stunning piece of handcraft but when paired with the dark Noir St Laurent marble they create an extraordinary effect. The designers see striking copper veins starting to appear in this magnificent stone, making this pairing a magical one. The vision for this design was to create a space where their clients could indulge in luxury and elegance whilst staying in the glamorous design capital of London. An apartment that overlooks Tower Bridge and is situated in the famous Butlers Wharf building needed a design that matched this level of grandeur.
