design et al are delighted to announce that Shellshock have been shortlisted for a Wallcovering award in The International Product Design Awards 2015 

Shellshock have created a versatile product that creates the effect of a natural stone finish but with the added property of translucency. This allows for backlighting to be added to produce a mesmerising display of colour and texture.The example project shown is a national chain of restaurants – Red Hot World Buffet and Bar. They approached Shellshock initially to look at creating a unique bar front ,but upon seeing the diversity of this product they used it throughout their locations for walls, bar fronts, columns, staircases, a central lit feature arch and more.

The ability to produce the product in so many colours and designs from onyx to phoenix stone means that no matter what the design basis and theme is, this product can enhance and compliment it. These restaurants have a very high footfall so the material needs to be hard wearing and resilient. The Faux Alabaster meets whilst remaining exclusive. The material is heat resistant and can be bent and moulded to many shapes. As well as a wallcovering, it is ideal to create beautiful light fittings.
