Congratulations to Denise Hepburn Interior Vision shortlisted for Residential £2.5-5 Million (Property by Value) Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2017

design et al are delighted to announce that Denise Hepburn Interior Vision have been shortlisted for Residential £2.5-5 Million (Property by Value) Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.

Denise Hepburn Interior Vision came up with the initial design concept and the architect, Yemisi Idicula, drew it up for her. Denise wanted to combine a traditional look on the outside (Georgian style), with a modern, comfortable, and timeless interior. Clean lines and good flow of space were important factors and the tall windows flood the property with natural light. All the ceilings, including the top floor, are high, which gives the feeling of even more space. All products and details, from the brickwork and door knobs, to the paint colours and soft furnishings, were specified by Denise Hepburn Interior Vision.
Denise Hepburn Interior VisionThe kitchen is designed for entertaining and the Vincent Sheppard table and chairs are great for informal dining. The appliances are Wolf, Sub-Zero and Miele and Denise Hepburn put in a walk-in larder, which is useful for storage. A separate utility room houses laundry appliances and Denise designed an open plan shower space, set into the floor, for washing the dog, muddy boots, etc. Larchwood was installed with CAT 5e/6 wiring to future proof the property in terms of all internet and audio-visual requirements. All floors, including the top floor are concrete, which provides extremely good sound insulation and there is underfloor heating throughout. There are fireplaces by Chesney’s in the hall, kitchen, living and dining rooms, and the master bedroom, which provide both a grand, yet cosy feel to each room.
Denise Hepburn Interior VisionThe en-suite bathrooms are either tiled in natural stone or Porcelanosa/Mandarin Stone porcelain tiles, with the aim of giving guests a luxurious bathing experience. The steam room, on the top floor of the property, is decorated using copper mosaic tiles and Denise carried the mosaic through onto cabochons in the flooring outside the steam room. Denise Hepburn Interior Vision believe the design works so well because the layout of the property is simple, flexible, and there is a great flow of space. The rooms are very spacious and the house is flooded with light. Denise is certain that she achieved what the company set out to do – a design which will stand the test of time.
Denise Hepburn Interior VisionDenise Hepburn Interior Vision was on site almost every day of the build and really enjoyed seeing the project grow and come to life. It is the biggest project that Denise has undertaken so far and as a one-woman business, she is extremely proud of what has been achieved, as well as grateful for the opportunity to have been able to do it. The budget left over at the end of the build for the interior design of Larchwood was extremely tight and Denise had the challenge of creating a home that felt luxurious but didn’t break the bank, through the combination of a few good pieces and one or two expensive fabrics, with other furnishings that were much more cost effective. It was a challenge Denise enjoyed!
