What direction do you feel design is moving towards in general terms?

Minimal design with maximum attention to details, high technical content and construction. Trend to dark colours and mixture of opaque surfaces with highly tactile textures. Lighting design is mandatory and fundamental. To create atmosphere with shadows and lightness.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2015 and beyond.

Light and shadow

Technology transfers

Innovation

Custom made

Unusual material pairings

And key trends that we should be aware of?

Technology and design.

What projects are you currently working on?

We are now developing three projects for the interiors of Cantiere delle Marche boats: 86”, 102”, 107” – all those boats will be launched next spring/summer and will be presented in Cannes fair 2015. At the same time we are developing some works about car interiors and product design for Chinese customers.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Global quality from layout to details.

A designer’s work is so diverse – how do you manage to hold down a career and a life?

It is true, it is very difficult to manage a career and life. We try to transform our work in pleasure.

How important are The International Yacht and Aviation Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?

Of course it is very important that your own work is recognised.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

Continuing in our design work in Italy and abroad.
