Elan Yachts have been shortlisted for Sailing Yacht Under 40 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards.
Elan Yachts had a mission to create a new flagship, the Elan GT6 and make it a next-generation Grand Tourer that delivers the perfect balance of speed and power, comfort and luxury, good handling, and precise control. In cooperation with Humphreys Yacht Design and Studio F. A. Porsche, Elan Yachts set a new standard for serial yacht manufacturing.
Stiff, stable, and weatherly, the high-performance hull and sailplan by Humphreys Yacht Design needed to be optimised for short-handed, medium-range cruising. Combine the three generations of Humphreys and Elan design evolution and extensive CFD modelling to produce a refined yacht that handles like a thoroughbred and delivers exhilarating performance on all points of sail, across the full range of wind and sea conditions.
Add to that unique styling by Studio F. A. Porsche, focusing on elegance, usability and style; create a distinct product silhouette with sharp lines and elaborately curved surfaces and as a unique design feature create beautiful flares of light as the yacht moves through the water. In the cockpit and interior, focus on excellent ergonomics and embed a host of innovative design features bring a new level of luxury to life on board a 49 ft serial luxury cruiser yacht.
In addition to the points described above, Elan Yachts achieved all of the points raised in the design brief, without sacrificing neither comfort nor performance on-deck. The flush deck design is complimented by the hidden rope lines, deck joint and chain plates; that, combined with the styling of Studio F. A. Porsche achieves an immediately recognizable and unique yacht. The interior incorporates a single flowing line of design and compliments immaculately created woodwork. All this comfort is juxtaposed with a twin-rudder, chined hull, and a powerful sail-plan naval architecture, which measurably and significantly performs better in low-wind and harsh conditions on the water.
