Danish designer Gabriel Nigro is the latest to be shortlisted into The International Product Design Awards 2013. With only a few places remaining in the Lighting – Piece category, Gabriel secured his by submitted a truly original piece.

Nigro’s design titled The Concorde Suspension Lamp: Isabella, comprises of an aluminium frame with 38 individual acrylic lampshades. The shades primary purpose is to diffuse the light efficiently throughout the piece. The designer is particularly fond of its delicate and elegant look, whilst remaining a  functional and practical piece that can be used in both residential and commercial environments. The inspiration for the lighting piece came from teaching his daughter how to make paper aeroplanes  and from there The Concorde Suspension Lamp started to take shape.
