The Great House is at the heart of the new destination and is inspired by the island’s distinctive culture. The transitional style of the Great House, along with its sun filled interiors, feel reminiscent of travellers visiting the islands in the late 19th century with a modern twist. Custom murals greet guests in the reception area, the paintings capture the spirit of Caribbean life in the style of Michael Lester, a famous Jamaican artist with connections to the legacy of the property. Airy spaces are thoughtfully adorned with light fabrics and modern silhouettes and custom textiles inspired by the local flora and fauna provide subtle pops of colour throughout. Guest rooms in the Great House overlook the sweeping lawn and rolling sea, with stunning views of the hills before the cockpit country rest gently in the background of this Caribbean retreat.

Jim Tinson, Hart Howerton CEO states, “Our vision for Eclipse brings together the rich history of the original families that came to Half Moon and the brilliant and colourful culture of the island.” To achieve this, Hart Howerton’s team of architects, interior designers and landscape architects worked closely with local artists and artisans to create an environment that shaped a luxury experience unique to its setting. Tinson adds, “the buildings and landscapes create a retreat with the residential scale and character of an elegant villa.”
