design et al are delighted to announce that Henrietta Holroyd Ltd has been shortlisted for Residential £5 Million Plus (Property by Value) Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.

This project is set within an impressive contemporary building designed by an award-winning architect. The five-bedroom apartment has floor to ceiling windows framing 180- degree views over the Thames and London skyline. Working in collaboration with the owners to create every element of this sprawling modern apartment Henrietta Holroyd Ltd transformed the property into a quietly luxurious and dynamic home, incorporating carefully considered personal spaces and allocating separate areas for entertaining family and guests.

Building on the detail of day to day family living and reimagining the layout to provide a tranquil oasis in juxtaposition to a busy city Henrietta Holroyd Ltd developed a fresh, modern yet comfortable look with balanced symmetry. The internal corridor links together the two wings of the apartment, one wing housing the children’s bedrooms, utility room and kitchen/informal relaxing area to the formal side of the apartment which houses the master bedroom, guest room, formal living area and study.

The core style is reflected and showcased in layers. From bespoke joinery & mirrors, luxurious rugs, textured furniture with lacquer and bright colours to glamorous wall finishes and decorative lighting. The design is completed with large format black and white photographs, pop art and showcasing various decorative ceramic pieces bringing sophistication and fun to the overall design. The furniture and colour palette, a back drop of tonal hues drawn from the everchanging city scape layered with deep burgundies, vibrant oranges, and greens inspired by the seasons and reflected in the river seen from the full- length windows.

Being on one floor the design combines the two separate wings of the apartment joined by a corridor which has integral niches and lighting to showcase various art and sculptures with integrated changeable lighting depending on mood. At either end mirrored walls were designed and installed to create a sense of light and space as there is no natural light. Pops of colour reflected in the artwork tie together the overall scheme. The formal living room was reconfigured to allow for casual relaxation as well as glamorous entertaining and both hallways in either wings
