design et al are delighted to announce that HWCD have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence £1-2.5 Million – Global Award in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2019.
The interior design of this project is featured in combining the western contemporary lifestyle and the eastern artistic conception. Hwcd aimed to blend the elegant London lifestyle with Chinese spatial framework, applied multiple materials including leather, wood, fabric, marble and metal. With all the different material, the design team creates a space with a sense of depth. When contemporary meets tradition, the space is endowed with life and marching out of time. Using champagne gold and ash grey as the dominant colour tone and the new additions of metal edges creates a modern atmosphere. Along with the dining room, a large floor-to-ceiling window is like the showcase for abstract art space.
The huge liner chandelier crosses two floors and looks like the resplendent Milky Way. It rhymes with the spiral stairs and makes people feel like they step foot in a contemporary art gallery in London. Moreover, the contemporary artistic design mixed with traditional Chinese details like the hardware of the furniture. In this project, the design team used various of different materials to create the atmosphere and blend the western modern city with Chinese traditional culture.
The whole interior design not only shows the artistic taste of the owner, but also reflects the new urban lifestyle which combined the western and eastern belief together. The main aspect of the interior design aims to present a feeling of elegant western London lifestyle in a traditional Chinese spatial framework and to achieve that, the design team use various different materials to create the contemporary atmosphere.
