design et al are delighted to announce that Interiors by Sarah Ward have been shortlisted for Bathroom Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2018.
The brief for Interiors by Sarah Ward was to transform the space in a stunning lateral apartment overlooking Grosvenor Square into a contemporary and comfortable home. Following designs approved by the client, Interiors by Sarah Ward sought permission from the managing agents and liaised with various consultants. The site program was 9 months and Sarah oversaw every detail. Marble was installed in the master ensuite bathroom and niches, lit from above, which whilst practical also add glamour and depth. Working with a lighting designer was imperative to bring the space to life.
The general layout of the apartment was adjusted and made more efficient, the ceilings were raised wherever possible to visually expand the space. In some cases, the newly installed air conditioning restricted the designers. The indulgent Master ensuite features marble throughout while carefully placed lighting is able to transform the space from tasking to relaxing. The ensuite also features a Gerberit self-cleaning WC, which the designers have stated was particularly entertaining during installation. Interiors by Sarah Ward designed bespoke joinery throughout to incorporate as much storage as possible and to create aesthetic appeal.
The contrasting marble in the bathrooms were honed for safety and to provide a striking contrast to the nickel sanitary ware. The lighting has 4 settings to create atmosphere at different times of the day. A selection of marble was chosen throughout the bathroom to add interest. The result is dramatic and elegant, the fabulous lighting scheme evokes atmosphere and magic, making the room calm and relaxing. Grosvenor Square is the ‘go to’ address in central London. The quality of the design work that Interiors by Sarah Ward installed, and the finishes are synonymous with that of other properties in the area. The level of specification expected in this location is one of quality, luxury, and excellent taste.
