design et al are delighted to announce the successful shortlist for Knox Design for the Bedroom award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2016. This magnificent villa is located 5 minutes from the capital city of Palma and is located within the gated estate of Son Vida.
The owners of this villa wanted to give their guests a taste of summer and a complete contrast to the often-heavy interiors of the UK. The view of the garden provided Justine from Knox Design with the inspiration for this guest bedroom and ensuite bathroom. A cool and calm summery feeling was created with soft furnishings against a white and pale lime green canvas.
Clever hidden lighting helps to create a soft glow and keep the mood calm. Soft Italian white leather was used for the bed and seating, cool chrome and white lacquered oak furniture with some fun decorative elements completed the look.
The result is an original, fresh, tranquil yet vibrant space with a singular mark of Mediterranean contemporary design.
