design et al are delighted to announce that Landau + Kindelbacher Architekten Innenarchitekten have been shortlisted for City Space (Apartment/Penthouse) Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.

Old Bogenhausen has always been considered as Munich’s best residential area. The quarter is particularly characterised by representative villas and residences and is interspersed by a large number of green spaces. The new residential complex consists of a three-storey standalone building with ground floor, upper storey and penthouse, plus a basement with an underground garage. In the design of the apartments, the architects have paid great attention to generous floor plans, providing for one flat per storey. The largest possible open spaces in the form of terraces, balconies and loggias enhance the living quality.Landau + KindelbacherThis Munich penthouse contains state-of-the-art technology: electrical Sky-Frame windows, electrical convertible roof over the bed and bathtub, voice-activated building technology, electrical sliding doors, etc. An individual kitchen block sculpture with integrated illuminated dining table and platinum-finished surfaces down to the silk-covered cabinet fronts and the use of special surfaces such as stingray leather, platinum, embossed leather and natural stone account for the special flair. The best way to describe this property is luxurious living design in warm, cosy wood tones, and with maximum comfort.
Landau + KindelbacherThe designers believe that the key aspect of this project is the uniform, restrained colour range with elegant woods which is rounded off by colour accents in mustard and orange and echoed in the natural stone Sahara Noir. The gentle light atmosphere is produced by indirect lighting, and the warm-glowing natural stone is illuminated by the many individually distributed light sources. There were many specialist skills needed for this penthouse project, a highlight is the lamp over the dining table, which is a specially designed one-off production, as well as the kitchen fronts, which are covered with platinum and dark-stained lamellae.
