LINLEY

Congratulations to LINLEY Interior Design shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – UK Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2017

design et al are delighted to announce that LINLEY Interior Design have been shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – UK Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.

The theme for this project is best described as ‘relaxed modern’ – the design is a manifestation of an eclectic, yet luxe communal space shared by the residents of this development project. LINLEY Interior Design’s aim was to reflect the outstanding qualities of this prestigious building, incorporating the materials, palette and location with a nod to the building’s industrial heritage. It also provides an informal atmosphere where residents can enjoy different spaces that cater for every mood; private dining, watching movies, reading or playing cards. The style is curated, and modern, but not too serious to form the backdrop to what is essentially an adult’s playroom; leather-bound books, games and media hub – it’s all catered for.LINLEYThe scheme is located within a modern building, but looks back at the iconic Power Station and across the River Thames. The colours and textures used within the scheme take inspiration from the environment they look out on – burnt orange and reds from the Power Station bricks, muted blues and greys of the tree lined river. LINLEY Interior Design’s favourite aspect of the project is the Library. It is the perfect mix of iconic LINLEY furniture pieces, layered with items procured from a variety of suppliers, antiques and artefacts salvaged from the original Power Station.
LINLEYThe reception desks are a bespoke LINLEY design, hand crafted by UK craftsmen, they echo the aesthetic of the restored Art Deco panels from the Power Station. The timber is walnut and the design includes a leather inset top and a range of storage for the staff. The aim of the interior scheme was to create an extension of the residents’ home, a series of spaces where you can relax, entertain friends, play a board game or watch a film. The space is curated, with careful layering to create interest and intrigue, relaxed yet luxe.
