The Dorchester hotel, London, has been revealed as the glamorous location of the International Yacht and Aviation Awards ceremony 2013.

The ceremony will be held on Friday 19 April 2013 and tickets are already selling fast.

The Park Lane hotel holds an iconic status within the capital, with the ballroom providing the perfect setting to celebrate many of the world’s most renowned yacht and aviation designers.

Last year’s IY&A Awards were held at the equally luxurious Hotel Splendido, overlooking Italy’s stunning Portofino harbour.

The decision to sacrifice the sunshine and bring the ceremony to the UK this year was down to the entrants, as Joanne Beedles, publisher of design et al, explained: “This year’s awards have in many ways been directed by our past and present entrants.

“We’ve conducted surveys and asked for their opinion on many factors, including the location of the ceremony.

“An overwhelming majority selected London as their preferred location. The Dorchester then seemed like an obvious choice of venue, combining timeless style with a contemporary, glamorous edge.”

The evening will commence with a champagne reception followed by a three-course dinner, the awards presentation itself and a spectacular after party.
