Mark Humphrey is an international designer who fuses together Art and Design discipline together. A recent installation at Grosvenor House Apartments, Park Lane, titles Ice-Circles has secured his place on the shortlist of the Lighting – Scheme category.

The 3m tall work of art took pride of place in the grand, seven story vaulted atrium that lies at the heart of Grosvenor House. Ice-circles is fashioned from a series of perfectly formed perspex circles which run from base to apex.

Mark Humphrey commented “The concave cone shape of Ice-circles, made up of over 60 ‘halo’ circles, 4m tall and weighing one tonne, echoes the form of an icicle where light and shade are frozen in time. Each frosted perspex circle has it’s own cavity of light.”
