design et al are delighted to announce that Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design have been shortlisted for Bathroom Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2018.
This project involved a tranquil contemporary master bathroom within a luxurious residence in Chatam, Massachusetts. This spacious master bath design affords a luxurious spa experience for its residents without having to leave their house. The modern freestanding soaking bath tub is centered on the gable windows and is partially wrapped with a custom wood accent cabinet. Elevating the space and above the tub is a blown resin chandelier by Oly Studio. The chandelier is reminiscent of a cloud and gives the owners an added feeling of comfort, relaxation, and luxury.
Soft grey colours fill this bathroom scheme, the bath, floor, and walls are clad with oversized porcelain tiles in a light grey colour from Porcelanosa. The naturally bright shower has an accent wall that provides a touch of texture and movement punctuating the overall space. The custom vanity incorporates a solid surface waterfall counter top with an extra wide sink big enough for two. The cabinetry matches the tub surrounding and provides enclosed storage for toiletries and open storage for towels.
The custom wood cabinetry within this project required specialist skills to create its white washed finish. Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design’s favourite aspect of this project is the oversized custom vanity and freestanding tub with chandelier above. The designers believe that the design works well as the design achieves a relaxing and luxurious spa experience from the comfort of the owners’ home.
