Congratulations to Michael Fiebrich Design who won Hotel Suite Award Asia Pacific in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2017

design et al are delighted to announce that Michael Fiebrich Design have won Hotel Suite Award Asia Pacific in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2017.

Four luxurious bedrooms, private gym, massage room, study and billiard room round out the luxurious offerings of Australia’s most exclusive suite. Michael Fiebrich’s brief was to create Australia’s most exclusive luxury suite; when guests enter and gaze over the modern grand stair, lofty double-height lounge and private bar to take in sweeping views of the skyline and surrounding river from this 715 sqm penthouse suite. Colour blocking was utilised to define the palette and the interior architecture. The chosen palette is echoed in the material selections and art program, where large graphic pieces were carefully commissioned by Western Australian artists to support the Villa’s main colour focus.IHPMichaelFiebrich_HotelSuiteAsiaPacific_ChairmansVillaCrownTowersPerth_ThumbnailThe idea of colour blocking was made very popular through the fashion industry, and is believed to be inspired by turn of the century artist Piet Mondrian, who valued simplicity and experimented with maximising it while still maintaining recognizable, although abstract, geometric shapes. Due to the Hotel’s strong brand identity of sleek, contemporary and sophisticated spaces, this design approach harboured efficient layouts and bold, expressive interior architecture with a requisite level of luxury. Architecturally, the villas support this simplistic nature with dramatic features and high end finishes that create bold graphic statements. High gloss lacquered panels with contrasting dark trims and metal accents provide clean, modern frames to inset fabric, leather and custom-sized artwork panels to allow them to become one with the architecture. The entire architectural palette remains neutral, in addition to much of the upholstery, in order to create a dramatic backdrop to the bold colour accents and unique art program seen throughout the suite.IHPMichaelFiebrich_HotelSuiteAsiaPacific_ChairmansVillaCrownTowersPerth_2A bold but playful installation of form and light dances throughout the atrium space and culminates in a spiralling sculpture that encircles the grand stair. This iconic light feature can even be seen from the ground level as you pull up to the hotel. The interior architecture employed simple, bold geometries in floors, ceilings and panelled walls which provided clean architectural insets for bold, expressive fabric, leather and custom-sized artwork panels as well as framed the incredible views of the Perth skyline and winding Swan River below. The views from each and every room are made even more spectacular by this approach.IHPMichaelFiebrich_HotelSuiteAsiaPacific_ChairmansVillaCrownTowersPerth_3
