Congratulations to Pizzale Design shortlisted for Luxury Residence – Canada in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2019

design et al are delighted to announce that Pizzale Design have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence – Canada award  in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.

An 8000 sq feet custom new build with creative custom millwork and a harmonious palette over 3 floors.

The clients approached Pizzale Design overwhelmed and ready for some guidance in making the plethora of decisions for their 8000 square foot dream home. The design of the home was to be inviting and comfortable while still accentuating style. Each bedroom was carefully curated to reflect each occupants style, personality and needs while keeping along the same lines of the overall design scheme of the house. One son’s room was placed closest to the home gym as he works out every morning and desks that doubled as makeup vanities were put in the girl’s rooms for when they are home studying for their university exams.

Pizzale Design created lots of storage and every room incorporated built-in millwork and unique storage solutions, which could store all their household items. Spacious entryways and hallways were considered for ease of mobility within the home to accommodate for traffic flow in their busy home. The millwork details and fabric selections are key in personalising this project. Pizzale Design believes these aspects really convey the personality and tastes of the clients.

Great care was taken to create unique millwork for the cabinetry as well as applied wall moulding and custom ceiling details. To soften all the hard surfaces, Pizzale Design wanted the fabrics to take centre stage. On every floor, there is a cohesive flow to all rooms, with some fabrics being very prominent and others supporting these. The soft, elegant colours on the main floor, that transition to a softer and more feminine palette on the second floor and a deeper palette in the basement. There is a connection between all three floors but still, each has its own unique vibe.

The feeling of the interior also mimics the exterior of the home, in colour and style. For example, the use of classic lines and variations of greys and blues found within the stone and painted siding. Blues occur frequently throughout nature, representing tranquillity, inner peace and calmness, this is a feeling Pizzale Design wanted to inspire within the spaces throughout the home.
