Concorde BGW Group have been shortlisted for Bar/ Club/ Lounge – Europe Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2021.
The brief was to create an elegant cocktail lounge to replace the unused Mind Gym, as well as transforming the adjoining garden with a beautiful design that radiates tranquillity. It was imperative that the construction of the lounge did not impact on the guest experience. Having reviewed different options, the space allocated for the Twilight Lounge development is the current “Mind Gym”. The lounge needed to sit comfortably with the Ragdale brand but also move the spa forward with some innovation, and most importantly it needed to be a space that impressed.
The Mind Gym looks out onto the rear enclosed gardens which will present a great outlook for the space and offers the room required to expand. The guest use of this area restricts options to work during the summer months.
The glamours decade of the 1920’s which brought with it its famous art deco style is expressed in every element of the Twilight Lounge’s design. Angular furniture in dark green hues along with exotic touches of tropical plants, colourful House of Hackney wallpaper and a rich colour pallet of fabrics makes its design both glamourous and exotic. The Sunburst-style chandelier hanging centrally to the room adds a fun, playful accent and a dash of 1920’s glam without being too old-fashioned.
No detail was spared when forming the sweeping, art deco inspired bar. Before the back bar was fitted with its stylish brass bottle displays and gantry’s, the entire wall was tiled with a mosaic pattern in cool white and blush pink. Mirrors behind the bottle displays really add to its art deco style.
Scallop prints and shapes are timeless yet modern and have been used in Ragdales one-of-a-kind fixed seating which is totally unique to the venue. Using a pallet of pink colours, the bespoke seating is eye-catching and thanks to its scalloped shapes it adds texture and dimension to the lounge. The scallop shape appears again on the bar front, a sweeping gold and white tiled showstopper, a beautifully tiled feature that makes the bar really sparkle.
It’s a relaxed yet stylish lounge with comfortable seating and luxurious fixtures and fittings. It provides a new space to unwind in total peace and tranquillity with fantastic surroundings. The garden has been restored and has plenty of places to hideaway. The new landscaping, including the addition of a bespoke water feature and seating makes it a real special place to be.
