Strattica is an artistic and abstract hand tufted carpet, made of 100% New Zealand wool with silk with a multi-level cut and loop construction. The carpet is a modern interpretation of an aisle pattern emphasizing movement throughout the cabin. Scott Group Studio’s favourite aspect of the project is the graphic quality and movement of the design.
The overall interior of the aircraft is very clean and sleek. The carpet clearly adds a purposeful bold and artistic element to the space. The design integrates well because the carpet ties together the range of neutral tones found throughout the aircraft, pulling in accents from the wood veneer, upholstery, finishes and accessories. The carpet was 100% custom designed to fit the layout of the aircraft by Scott Group’s in-house design team; the colours were custom dyed to their dye house to match the exact colours of the other specified materials and the carpet was hand tufted and hand sheared by artisans in their mill headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
