design et al are delighted to announce further shortlist success for Haak interior design of excellence in the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015. Austin – a 74m explorer concept will compete in the Yacht Concept over 40m category.
In partnership with Fuhrmann and Ochoa Studio in Hamburg – specialists in the design of yacht exteriors, Haak interior design of excellence have created a superior design concept. Comprised of highly qualified designers, both companies have provided a unique and distinct project in Austin – a 74m explorer.
With a balance of masculine and feminine interior elements, there is an excellent balance between light and dark, which achieves innovative colour variations. The interior is a perfect example of nature’s colours and textures: shades of blue and pine-green are inspired by water, wind, clouds and the countryside.
The main salon can be used for a variety of purposes, as it is divided into several sections. The fireplace with integrated library and cinema is an area for relaxation. Movable furniture and interior features mean that the user can alter the size of library and cinema according to individual taste and space requirements.
The owner’s suite with its imposing King size bed, along with the main lounge, is the most important section of the owner’s deck. A writing desk and couch are placed to the right and left respectively of the owner’s suite entrance. Warm, earthy colours are used for the room interior, so that attention is not drawn away from the bed in the centre of the room. The colour palette of the owner’s suite blends into colours used for the the adjacent spa area, which also incorporates colours from the owner’s suite.
The lighting also gives the bed a prominent position in the room and creates a wonderfully warm ambience. The inside of the bed’s rear panel can be customised with integrated elements such as a television, mini-bar or shelving. From the bed the owner can enjoy spectacular views of the ocean.
