design et al are thrilled to announce a further shortlist for Oakeve Interiors, this time for the Kitchen Design Over £25,000 Award. Holm Oak is a luxury residence of grand proportions and the kitchen is the jewel in the heart of this very special home. The client brief was to achieve ‘one large entertaining space’ between the kitchen, breakfast area and family room, whilst creating an aspirational and opulent finish.
Oakeve took great care and attention during the spatial planning phase so that these three specific rooms, although with different functions provided a seamless flow between them. This was also achieved using the same interior decor and complimentary colour palettes. The high gloss sabbia cabinetry was further enhanced by recessed uplighting with a contrasting high gloss Ebano finish for the island, to provide a bright and contemporary kitchen scheme. The Ebano high gloss cabinetry with black mock croc detailing on the recessed handles was further used by procuring an Ebano display cabinet and dresser alongside black mock croc base units for ample storage. The large amount of textured silestone and walnut work surface provides a similar contrasting luxurious marriage of materials, complimenting the cabinetry.
The oversized kitchen island with a ‘ying and yang’ design ensured a ‘wow factor’ and focal point for the scheme.Throughout the kitchen, electrical appliances were all Miele to provide a high specification and quality finish.
To achieve a fresh, bright and welcoming scheme, bi-fold doors were installed along the full length of the entire room with two roof lanterns maximising natural light. Lutron mood lighting and a Sonos Multi-Room Audio System further promote the wellbeing of the client.
