International design studio Gray Design have been successfully shortlisted for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2014. Their project, ‘Empress Crest A55’ will compete in the ‘Yacht Concept up to 30 metres‘ Category.
The Empress Crest A55 is a functional 55 foot yacht with a heavy focus on design.
The design brief was to create a futuristic looking yacht that would appeal to the new wave of interest in highly designed and distinctive looking yachts. This yacht is part of a range of Empress Crest yachts starting from 35 feet reaching up to 115 feet and is designed to match the the styling of the rest of the range.
The highly sculptural aspects of the design and the flowing art nouveau lines along the hull paired with the sporty glasshouse make for a beautiful combination of grace and speed.
There is a harmony in all of the flowing lines throughout the yacht, from bow to stern and every line follows in the watery flow of the waves that it rests upon.
