Shortlisted: SHH’s Chelsea apartment to compete for the residential £2.5 – 5 million award…

Following their shortlist success at last year’s awards, SHH are now set to compete for the residential £2.5-5 million award at The International Design and Architecture Awards 2013 with an opulent Chelsea apartment.

Project description: “This expansive triplex resides behind the façade of a Victorian ‘grande dame’ in Chelsea. Purchased as a shell and core of 3 floors, our international client engaged the services of SHH to transform the apartment into a glamorous contemporary haven for him and his family. With hints of Art Deco detailing and a smooth neutral palette, this home blends up-to the minute technology with classical style and opulence.”

“Stand-out spaces include the triple volume entrance space, dominated by a three storey bas relief olive tree. The principal 1,400 sq ft reception room combines a formal and informal entertaining with a dining area, as well as a grand piano.”

Hints of Art Deco detailing run throughout the apartment

“Tucked away behind an automatic mirror door is the family kitchen, whilst beyond the leafy voiles is a private patio which extends to Chelsea’s most gorgeous communal garden. The apartment also benefits from 3 further en suite bedrooms, a large cinema with options for watching movies in 3D as well as a Chef’s kitchen.”
