Stephen Clasper Interiors celebrate more shortlist success with their project shortlisted for the Kitchen Over £100,000 award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2014.

The project is a  glamorous, distinctive bespoke kitchen, relaxing and dining space for a prestigious Surrey home.

The client set out a very clear brief: to deliver a highly distinctive space – the likes of which he’d never seen before – from initial design to final installation.

“Having presented our first ideas in the form of hand sketches, we discussed his needs in greater depth and worked closely with him to look at materials and finishes.” explains Stephen Clasper, Design Director of Stephen Clasper Interiors.

The team designed a TV zone and a distinctive, circular display area with comfort as well as style as top priorities and incorporated a secret, walk-in larder behind a pair of tall, elegant cabinet doors. In terms of finishes, they used maccassar veneer and coloured, high-gloss lacquer with polished chrome trims – all touches highly tailored to their client’s taste.

Stephen Clasper Interiors own craftsmen hand-made all items of fitted furniture in their workshop to ensure they were unique to this client and tightly co-integrated with the overall design. The end result is a striking, glamorous space for cooking, eating, relaxing and entertaining.

The island breakfast bar, as well as being highly functional, is a stunning focal point for the room. It makes great use of the space and, with its polished maccassar top and mirror-finished stand, delivers immediate ‘wow’ factor to anyone walking into the room.
