A client approached Su Marine to build a comfortable sailing yacht based on their successful collaboration, ROXANE. His brief was for a more compact version capable of operating with a smaller crew. To improve sailing performance, the team have refined the hull lines and introduced a fin keel carrying a big bulb. Draft is moderate at 3.60m enabling IN LOVE to cruise the Mediterranean bays and islands without much hindrance.

A ketch rig with beautifully detailed Dökar aluminium spars, nitronic rod standing rigging, Navtec hydraulics, Bamar hydraulic furlers and lazy jack – full batten on main plus mizzen gives controllable wind power to a crew of three. There are three crew cabins for a total complement of six. Spacious engine room houses two generators as well as a 600 hp Scania engine turning a Bruntons Varifold propeller. With this set-up she burns 60 litres per hour cruising at 10 knots. Full throttle pushes her to 12 knots easily.

Construction is executed in the best Su Marine old world craftsmanship, but using epoxy laminating technique for every structural component. Some of these components are also carbon reinforced as needed such as the deck house beams. Best seasoned iroko, mahogany and teak timbers produce an extremely strong and durable structure which also has superior insulation characteristics. Sleek superstructure, fore and aft cockpits, caprails and deck furniture are finished in varnished Burma teak sitting lusciously on oyster white AwlGrip painted topsides.

The interior is styled in a modern light coloured fashion by Jean Guy Vergès using stained lati and oak veneers, lots of Spinneybeck leather and suede panels complemented by custom made leather and stainless steel hardware. Bathrooms are covered with light emprador marble; basins are carved of black marble. A very satisfied owner gifted the boat with a rich central entertainment system including a hidden TV behind the helm seat for watching a movie under the stars…
