design et al are delighted to announce the successful shortlist for Taylor Interiors for the Bathroom Award in the ID&A Awards 2015.
The bathroom is part of an exclusive property in the Andalucía mountain area. Set at the top of a hill, the front of this stunning property is exposed to striking ocean views, while to the left the vista is mountainous.
An ageless glamour defines the space, from its dark and sumptuous palette to the exquisite craftsmanship and materials. The client requested that the space had masculine elements. Taylor Interiors carefully interpreted the brief, selecting a defining ‘black dune’ dark brown marble as the signature material. This surrounds the square Jacuzzi bath, which is the centerpiece of the room, transforming the space into somewhere to pamper and indulge. The double sink is cut entirely from a single piece of ‘black dune’ and sits on a bespoke vanity unit.
The cream hue of the “marble crema” flooring offers a subtle contrast to the darker tones. Cut from large pieces of stone, it provides a seamless finish. These variants of marble catch the light through the expansive windows and demonstrate how to balance tones in a functional yet striking way. The atmosphere and style of the space is finished with accents of white, silver and chrome, seen in the luxurious velvet effect wallpaper and in key accessories such as the towels, orchids, silver vases and candle holders.
