We are thrilled to announce the further successful shortlist for Taylor Interiors, this time for the Bedroom Award in the ID&A Awards 2016.
Taylor Interiors were requested to completely demolish the existing bedroom within this property. The old fireplace which was not functional was removed together with the very old built in wardrobes. The carpet was changed to incorporate a beautiful silky alternative in taupe colour, along with cornices which were added to the ceiling together with a change to the door architraves.
There were originally oversized curtains covering the whole wall where the windows were located, which made the room look smaller. The curtain sizes were reduced which gave the room more form, along with the incorporation of pelmets and tie backs.
It was necessary to rewire the whole room and at this time dimmers were added and additional switches were provided. A stunning Murano glass chandelier was installed, creating a dramatic lighting feature within the room which looks stunning when dimmed in the evenings. The bedroom is the true sanctuary within this home. The wall paper softens the walls and changes the general look and atmosphere. Taylor Interiors found that having the curtains and pelmets the same pattern as the wall paper, helps to blend the look smoothly together. The mirrored pieces of furniture, such as the side table and console with mirror, reflect the beauty of the wall paper.
