Design et al are please to announce that The London Design Group have been shortlisted for a Residential £1-2.5 Million (Property by Value) Award in the International Design and Architecture Awards 2016.

This project, located in Great Snoring, Norfolk, UK, was completed in January 2015 by Interior Designer Jean Notman, of the London Furnishing Company. It is the complete conversion of a listed barn from almost derelict to create a modern space with on-trend fittings, whilst still in-keeping with tradition.

Some of the key highlights of the project include in the living area, a magnificent cathedral-height ceiling, exposing the beautifully preserved beams from the original barn, a fantastic central wood-burning stove with long chrome flue and a sweeping bespoke oak staircase which branches off in two directions to separate bedroom suites. All these features work well because the use of luxurious materials finished to an extremely high specification and the careful design, resulting in an elegant and sophisticated finish that reserves the traditions of a listed barn.

The barn is used privately by the owners as well as hired out for high end holiday retreats. It has a wonderful sense of light and space with vaulted ceiling with exposed beams in the main living area. It has been cleverly designed to create plenty of space to relax in comfort with the family.
