A record breaking, contemporary fire-lit vanishing edge pool with progressive LED lighting and record breaking pyrotechnics, overlooking beautiful Birmingham.

In August of 2017, Vickers Pools of the Southeast, Inc. were commissioned for the design and construction for an outdoor space, complete with a unique watershape. The pool was very important aspect of the project and keeping a clean open space was paramount. Vickers Pools of the Southeast, Inc. had less than 8 weeks to design, build and finish a complete project during a typical pool season, which makes this project all the more spectacular.

In three days, Vickers Pools of the Southeast, Inc. mobilised, broke ground and began construction from a design that had never been reviewed by the client. Vickers Pools of the Southeast, Inc. couldn’t resist creating another unique flair for the project. Vickers Pools of the Southeast, Inc. revealed plans to design a custom, record breaking fire feature that would be something not seen before on this scale of a residential project. The plan was to create a 50-foot vanishing edge with a concealed, 50-foot fire rail, complete with four automatic ignition systems so the client could access via an app that Vickers Pools of the Southeast, Inc. installed on their smartphones and tablets.

The waterline tiles called for sapphire blue, iridescent, glass mosaic tile from Oceanside Glass and Tile. It pairs perfectly with the exposed pool plaster surface blended from blue pigmented cement, glass beads of white, black, clear and iridescent sapphire blue, as well as natural pebbles and mother of pearl from Pebble

Technology. The installation of the surface by Shawn Still at Olympic Pool Plastering in Atlanta, Georgia was flawless and on schedule. When complete the beautiful chaise lounges were delivered from Ledge Loungers in Texas. Local distribution by Michael Moore and his team at South Central Pool Supply made sure the Zodiac Pool Products equipment and lighting package were ready for us. The 3000 square feet of dry deck was designed for entertaining.
