design et al are delighted to announce that VISO Inc have been shortlisted for Lighting Piece Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2018.
The Wandering Star light pendant embodies a very simple design and is fabricated with a minimalist approach to give it a luxurious and sleek look, suitable to the variety of environments that the light is installed in. Designer Filipe Lisboa, who is also the President and Founder of VISO, was inspired one night on his European trip as he observed the unique colours of the stars in the night sky. This inspiration eventually helped mould the shape of the lamp as well as the materials chosen to use on the pendants.
The Wandering Star is a polished and lustrous design that is the epitome of sophistication. The unique fixture is made with solid European marble and a cast glass lens. It also features metal details in a luxurious hairline bronze finish to bring the whole fixture together. The pendant is available in two different sizes and five unique marble finishes: Nero Black, Carrara White Gloss, Travertino, Indian Green and Matte White. The light piece can be a stunning fixture on its own or can create custom clusters to create a more eye-catching display. The availability of different sizes and variety in finishes allows for limitless possibilities and cluster combinations.
The natural materials used in the design of VISO’s Wandering Star allow it to be extremely versatile and complementary to a variety of environments. The neutral colours also make the piece capable of blending seamlessly into different projects, ranging from residential to commercial applications. As the fixture is a simple eye-catching design, it can be arranged to occupy a small space or be formed in creative clusters to fill larger spaces and form an eye-catching piece. The Wandering Star fixture first launched at the Light + Building show in Frankfurt as a part of the Made With Love collection. It is produced in VISO’s Toronto, Canada facility using eco-friendly manufacturing techniques.
