Congratulations to Wyrzykowski Studio shortlisted for Kitchen Design Over £100,000 Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2018

design et al are delighted to announce that Wyrzykowski Studio have been shortlisted for Kitchen Design Over £100,000 Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2018.

The brief for the kitchen was a modern design that would also fit in with the rest of the house which had already been decorated in a classical French style. Immediately, the classic theme can be elicited from the black, white and chrome that Wyrzykowski Studio used throughout the kitchen design. The room had the benefit of a spectacular view overlooking the garden, this was a trigger to rebuild the window; to enlarge it and accompany it with comfortable seating, so the owners could truly benefit from the view. This would also give the kitchen the benefit of more natural light.Wyrzykowski StudioOne of the most important elements of this project is the unique wooden floor in black and white. The kitchen equipment includes an espresso machine, steam oven, vacuuming drawer and 90cm wide oven by Gaggenau. Two big built in fridges and a dishwasher were embedded into the furniture. The big kitchen hood by SieMatic integrates the interior through special shapes of stone wall cladding. All external elements of furniture for the kitchen were individually designed to achieve a unique appearance with the cabinet interiors. Additionally, all elements were patinated by local artists to give them an authentic feeling.
Wyrzykowski StudioThe glass cabinet was designed to expose beautiful tableware from all over the world. The modern bar stools by O&D and the kitchen hood break the classic style of the interior. The cabinet handles were chosen from the Ferrovia line by Formani which represents style and utility having been used on trains in the early 20th century in Western Europe. The kitchen design perfectly matches the previously designed parts of the house, however its uniqueness lies in the detail added by Wyrzykowski Studio, breaking the classical theme by adding some stylish, modern elements.
