Congratulations to Annette Frommer Interior Design who have been shortlisted for Residential £10 Million Plus (Project By Value) Award

design et al are delighted to announce that Annette Frommer Interior Design have been shortlisted for Residential £10 Million Plus (Project by Value) Award in The International Design And Architecture Awards 2016

This project was a total renovation of a listed private landmark property. The extensive gardens were designed by landscape architects Weingrod & Abramson and implemented by Richard Rosenbaum. Since the property is a landmark with very strict preservation, prescribed by the Municipality, no changes could be made on the existing exterior. Hence, the use of the original front doors, railings and part of the floor tiles.1

The ground floor was planned mainly for entertaining and hosting guests with a large Master bedroom and a guestroom. All the other bedrooms as well as a large playroom are on the lower level.  The main entrance includes original wrought iron doors, and marble floors by Bottocino Classico. The family room serves as a library and has cosy seating around the bay window, looking out to the front garden; the walls in this room are painted light grey with subtle mouldings in high gloss finish to add a touch of elegance. The only new addition that was permitted is the living room; the whole room is enclosed by ultra-modern, large sliding windows, accentuating the contrast between old and new. In the hallway leading to the powder room, the floor has a beautiful mosaic rug from Sicis, each mosaic carefully chosen to match the colours of the house.ID&A16_AnnetteFrommer_Residential£10millionPlus_4The Master Bedroom has a streamlined spiral staircase going up to the study that is fitted in the turret above the room and the Master Bathroom is clad with Statuario book matched slabs and Lefroy Brooks fittings. Throughout the house the large doorways are clad in stone, bringing symmetry to the rooms. The expansive kitchen accommodates a large family that enjoys entertaining and hosting big parties. The house now serves as a Pied- a’- Terre for an American family, with children of all ages, who spend their holidays in Jerusalem in this very special neighbourhood.ID&A16_AnnetteFrommer_Residential£10millionPlus_3
