As a designer, Visha Nelson was looking at addressing a gap in the market for alternative floor coverings that are durable, stylishly luxurious and yet still practical. The Cinnamon Room’s Hide Rug Collection doesn’t just offer an aesthetic unique flair to any design scheme, it is also very practical in that the hides wipe clean and are easy to maintain, making them family and pet friendly in any busy household.
Using only ethically sourced hides in the highest grade available (sourced from South America and India), The Cinnamon Room’s attention to detail in the finish and workmanship of their rug designs, created as patchworks, make their range of rugs an outstanding product that adds an effortlessly stylish flair to any design scheme.
The use of natural hides in natural tones which are incorporated into each rug design (whether it’s a metallic, vibrant or laser etched design) lends itself to pulling together various elements and materials used around a design scheme.
All their rugs are hand made by highly skilled artisan craftsmen using skills passed down from generations. Employing and adapting the ancient concept of block printing in a fresher renewed and modern use of laser etching bridges the old and new giving an old craft a modern and contemporary twist.
Visha Nelson created her home decor brand largely based at looking what the market needed.
