Merril Design – Merril (Ford) Williams have been shortlisted for the Private Jet Design – Concept Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2021.
The Precedent is an entirely new form of private aviation inside and out. Fuelled by hydrogen and designed for any lifestyle, this aircraft could be your lavish party in the sky, business trip, or family vacation.
In 2035, when flying cars have saturated the world’s most sumptuous cities, what autonomous VTOL will the top 1% be soaring above in? This was the brief for Merril Design – to create an entirely new form of aircraft for the year 2035. The designer wanted to produce something that not only changed how thing usually look but more importantly, changes the experience. The Precedent became that exactly.
Merril Design believe that this is more than a form of transportation. The interior has been designed to be amenable to every passenger’s individual experience. The downstairs social area can easily transform from a high-end event to a quiet lounge. The upstairs private lounge can be your work room or bedroom. On each floor there is a designated raised walkway to get wherever you need. No matter where you are in the aircraft, you will always have the best view. The Precedent Signature seating and the Sky Bar are the two highlights of this project. They are ultimately unique and elegant.
The interior of the aircraft was inspired by a tree and all of its branches. There are different levels and paths even on each floor that help to create an overflow from each area. This idea of a flow is what allows everything inside and out to work so well. Every detail is specialized uniquely for the user and this aircraft. From the custom electro-magnetic barware to the hideaway touchscreens in the Precedent Signature Seating, this interior will leave an exclamation in any circumstance.
