Isla de fuego, a residential redevelopment property located in Isla Dorada – the heart of Cancun’s popular hotel district – has reached the shortlist for the International Hotel & Property Awards 2013.
Originally built over a decade ago, architect Mario Bolivar was approached 2 years ago by a young Mexican couple who wanted to transform the house from its Mediterranean-style beginnings, into something fresh and contemporary.
The main success of the redevelopment was creating a sense of openness within the interiors. All public areas on the first floor face a purpose-built infinity pool, and on the second floor owners and guests alike are afforded direct views of the beautiful Nichupte Lagoon.
The house is built on two levels across 16000 square feet and includes 4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms as well as staff quarters. Features include a 13 feet high main entrance decorated with diamond inspired lamps. There is also a private gym and steam room separated from the main social areas by a feature glass wall.
Isla de Fuego by architect Mario Bolivar was shortlisted for the International Hotel & Property Awards 2013 in the Residential Redevelopment category.
