design et al are pleased to announce shortlist success for Regent Palms TCI in the Spa Hotel Category of the International Hotel & Property Awards 2014.
The seventy-two suite resort sits on world renowned Grace Bay beach overlooking the mesmerizing turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
The residential suites are arranged in a semi-circle of five, five-story buildings positioned to create maximum ocean views within each suite. Two buildings have immediate beach frontage and the other three wrap around the sinuous infinity edge pool, hot tub, and swim-up bar and grill. The one, two, and three bedroom suites were designed to allow full rental flexibility as the property is operated as a condominium hotel. The character of the resort was inspired by classic, colonial Barbados architecture.
The open air lobby welcomes guests in typical Caribbean fashion, melding interior and exterior spaces. The lobby space leads to the exterior retail courtyard, situated in front of the resorts main restaurant. As guests make their way past the public areas, they meander through pathways situated within lush vegetation. On-site irrigation is achieved with reclaimed water.
In an effort to design the guest experience as one of indulgent serenity, the housekeeping operations are located entirely within a back-of-house basement. The basement areas connect all five lodging buildings as well as the swim-up pool bar and grill.
The 25,000 square foot spa adds to the serene atmosphere with eight treatment rooms surrounded by water on three sides. Spa guests begin and end their treatments at the relaxation area overlooking an elongated reflection pond, central to the treatment rooms.
