Atelier Alain Ellouz have created the Round alabaster coffee table with interior light. A diverse piece that can exist as a table, light, or just simply an object of beauty. The smooth surface of the alabaster it is made from makes it a very tactile object . It’s has been expertly made by carving a piece of alabaster marble. This surprising, very tender matter, easy to carve, sometimes resists and sometimes breaks violently when the blade meets one of its veins, rendering the whole piece unusable. The strength of the team gathered by Alain Ellouz is to have developed original treatments for alabaster surfaces and a specific work methodology.
The Round table is constructed cleverly so that the base and sides are thin enough to let the light show through revealing the true beauty of this material. Beautiful in both the day and night , the look is interchangeable with the option of different coloured bulbs to cast a multitude of hues to suit your mood. Each slab of alabaster has a unique pattern which means every design made ,stands alone as one of a kind. The finishing work: sanding, treatment application and final polishing make up most of the production time for each piece. It is this work which provides the warm and velvety feel of the pieces created by Atelier Alain Ellouz. Finally the lighting is incorporated and adapted to each model. All of these stages are completed by hand, by craftsmen specifically trained in alabaster work .
