We are thrilled to announce the further successful shortlist for Knox Design in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2016, this time for the Living Space – Europe Award.
A magnificent villa with breathtaking views and stunning architecture that needed the décor to brings comfort and warmth to its modern lines. The brief was to create a luxury holiday home to enjoy with family and friends. To set the mood of the rest of the ambiances Justine of Knox Design chose a spectacular one-of –a kind aluminium art panel by Alex Turco to grace the entrance hall. This became the colour palette for all the other living spaces.
Splashes of blue and indigo on white and glass, clean lines of chrome and steel, a white and reclaimed wood drinks cabinet that is a true objet d’art with two Modigliani-like faces atop. The Venetian plaster, wall coverings and bespoke rugs added texture to an otherwise serene and geometric space.
The protagonism of the living areas is undoubtedly the incomparable view of the bay of Palma in the distance. Knox Design sought to make the outdoor areas a platform, from which to take in the magnificence below by chosing white and blue comfortable, yet stylish seating areas surrounding the swimming pool. Under the porch, a white long table ready for lazy and pleasurable Mediterranean meals.
